About WFTV Events

One of the biggest benefits of becoming a WFTV member is that you gain access to a weekly events programme.
These events take place regularly in London and Glasgow, and annually at international film festivals including Cannes, Berlin and Edinburgh.

We have a number of event series which run throughout the year. These include:

The Writers' Group - a monthly meet-up for writer members featuring guest speakers and readings, produced by Christina Pickworth

Meet the Commissioner - a regular round-table discussion with a factual TV commissioner, produced by Elizabeth Tucker.

Comedy Breakfasts - a regular round-table discussion with top executives, performers and commissioners from the comedy world, produced by Norma Burke.

Show Us Your Shorts - a quarterly short film screening series which includes discussion and industry speakers, produced by Rebecca Brand.

Honing Your Freelance Skills - a series of workshops ad information sessions to help freelancers keep their skills and knowledge up to date, supported by Sara Putt Associates.

The Editor's Insight - a quarterly series which breaks down the art of editing and its key role in storytelling through film, delivered by award-winning editor and story consultant, Susan Brand.
