Sophie Balhetchet (Chair)
Sophie’s many production credits include Giro City, The Camomile Lawn, The Peacock Spring, Ballykissangel, the controversial Men Only and the feature film Imagine Me and You. Sophie was chair of the Association of Independent Programme Producers (PACT's precursor) and headed the Association's 25% access campaign. She is a founder member of Women in Film and Television, an RTS Fellow and was awarded the Silver Medal for Outstanding Services to Broadcasting.

Helen Baehr
Helen is an education and training professional with a background in the media and Higher Education. She specialises in providing research consulting and evaluation advice to a range of clients including the Higher Education Funding Council for England, UK Film Council, NESTA, the British Screen Advisory Council. She is a training associate at the Centre for Strategy and Communication and acted as Visiting Professor at the University of Sunderland.

Joan Blackham
Joan Blackham is an actress, has been an Equity Councillor and is currently on their Women’s Committee. She is also on the Review Committee of the National Council for Drama Training. Her film credits include Mothers & Daughters, Bridget Jones’ Diary, These Foolish Things and Plenty. TV work began with Reginald Perrin and To the Manor Born. Other sitcom series include starring with John Thaw in Home to Roost and playing Jemma Redgrave’s mother in Cry Wolf. Joan was a regular in BBC’s Judge John Deed and this year filmed a new comedy drama Honest for Greenlit. Extensive theatre work includes Kenneth Williams’ production of Loot, two seasons with the RSC and Shared Experience’s Jane Eyre.

Lyn Burgess
Lyn Burgess is the owner of The Magic Key Partnership, which was established in January 2002. She works as a Life and Business Coach for people in the Film and Television industry. Over the last 5 years she has coached hundreds of people either on a one to one basis over the telephone or by email or by interactive workshop. Lyn also acts as Company Manager for a small physical theatre company based in Ealing called Jet Theatre.

Joan Beveridge
After graduating from the Drama Studio, Joan worked in the theatre as a performer, writer and director, co-founding SNAP Theatre Company. She trained at Bournemouth Film School as writer/director. Between 1999 and 2003, she was the Project Director of GLAM, an Arts Education Charity, in Brighton, during which time she produced a number of documentaries, including a 5-minute animation for Meridian TV. In 2003 she became Media Development Coordinator for Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly, and now works for Cornwall Film as Project Manager for Cornwall Media Focus.

April Chamberlain
After several years managing various theatre companies, April started her career in television when she was appointed Business Manager for the Comedy department of BBC Scotland. She managed the department for three years - by which time it was not only a creative but also a financial success - before leaving to become a founder member and director of The Comedy Unit with Colin Gilbert. In 2006 April was awarded the Business Award at the prestigious Women in Film and Television Awards.

Suzanne Davies
Suzanne is a freelance producer and director of documentaries. She has made a wide range of series about women, cultural history and the arts, mostly for the BBC. She has been involved with lobbying for a better deal for women in the industry since the sixties and has seen how effective the efforts of women have been. Suzanne has seen WFTV going from strength to strength over its 17-year existence and has been involved in many WFTV projects centred around research and lobbying.

 

Lyndsay Duthie
At just 24, Lyndsay was the Series Editor of ITV’s flagship talk show Trisha. From there Lyndsay went on to Series Produce and originate many of her own network programmes such as ITV’s Family Feuds, BBC2’s Food and Drink, and ITV’s I Want That House. Lyndsay is now the Managing Director of the TV Indie and training company Ice Blue Media Limited, and a qualified trainer.


Jeanette Gregson
Jeanette graduated in Economics from the University of York. She is a corporate partner at Davenport Lyons, a leading law firm in the media sector. She advises clients on a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, IPO’s, shareholders’ agreements and provides general corporate advice to both established and growing companies.

Sue Griffin (Vice-Chair)
Sue Griffin is Commercial Advisor to intellectual property specialist Ipulse. Prior to this, she was Senior Vice President and Director, Strategy & Research for Reuters Media division where her global responsibilities included strategy, M&A and other strategic alliances, commercial policy and branding issues. Sue joined Reuters in 1995 from KPMG where she was an Executive Consultant in its information, Communications and Entertainment (ICE) Consulting group.

Anne McLear
Anne graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) Managerial Sciences in 1980 and has spent the majority of her career, working at the BBC, in people management. Her most recent role was the HR Partner for BBC Television during the period of the launch of the Digital channels and the transformation of the commissioning process. Currently enjoying an extended career break, she joined the Board in March 2006 to provide HR expertise.

Mandy Merron
Mandy is a partner at accountants Willott Kingston Smith. She works with creative, communications and consulting businesses such as marketing services companies and TV production companies. As well as audit and tax work her role involves general advice on a variety of commercial and technical issues such as developing business plans, bonus and share incentive schemes, mergers and acquisitions, pre sale tax planning, advising start-up businesses and succession planning.


Cassandra Sigsgaard
Cassandra is a Producer, currently developing a number of feature films for her company, Jeva Films. She has also produced a number of short films, including the award winning Eva (Best Foreign Film, Long Island Film Expo ‘06), written and directed by Laura Smith, which has appeared in over twenty festivals to date; In The Park, by writer/director Sasha Hails, which has screened at festivals in Europe including the Tampere in Finland and Birds Eye View London, screening with Tracey Emin's Topspot; and London Sonnet, written and directed by Tim Marchant.

Brenda Smith
Brenda was Group Managing Director of Ascent Media Group, Europe, Middle East & Africa and formerly Deputy Chairman of Granada Television until May 2006. Previously she was Managing Director of Granada Television until May 2004. Brenda is also a board member of Liverpool Vision and has chaired the Regional Marketing Forum since December 2002. Brenda has also established herself within the industry as a leader in business development initiatives by serving as Chairman of 3sixtymedia, a production facilities joint venture of Granada and BBC Manchester. She has recently been elected to the position of Chair of the London Forum, the regional skills panel in the Capital as part of Skillset, and is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
