Join Women in Film and TV for drinks, a prosthetics demo and networking in beautiful surroundings in the heart of the West end!! Bloww Hair salon and spa will once again be the venue, following the success and positive feedback from the previous event we held there.   

After you have grabbed a glass of chilled wine, Victoria, the salon manager, will briefly introduce herself and Bloww, and offer salon and spa tours to those who are interested. She will also have experts on hand for any beauty questions you may have. She has kindly offered a 30% discount on all salon and spa treatments as a special treat for WFTV members (valid for 12 months). If you joined us at the last event and have since indulged in a treatment at the salon, Victoria has offered a 20% discount if you decide to go again.

We will be joined on the evening by Paul McGuiness, a very experienced Prosthetics Make up artist. He will demonstrate the art of Prosthetics and the effects that can be created, show examples of his work, and discuss how these effects are created for the screen. Following this, Paul will join us for a glass of something, and will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Paul McGuiness: 

Paul has been in the business for many years, starting out with the BBC’s special effects department where he was for 13 years. He then set off on his own and does effects for film and TV which also includes pyrotechnics and visual effects. He has done projects on “Silent Witness, waking The Dead and Red Dwarf” as a few examples. He is currently working on a project with WFTV member Emma Thompson.
