About the Event
This event is in partnership with RTS Yorkshire.
WFTV and RTS Yorkshire present a preview of Screenhouse Production’s new BBC1 documentary Gentleman Jack Changed My Life, followed by a panel talk with some of the female team behind the camera and the documentary’s key contributors.
“That was the moment I realised I was gay”. This heart-warming film, from Leeds-based Screenhouse, tells the story of six British women who rediscover their sexuality, come out to themselves and their families, and rekindle long-lost love after watching TV drama Gentleman Jack.
Joining the conversation will be Screenhouse Executive Producer Barbara Govan, Producer/Director Sara Hardy, Producer Al Johnstone and some of the film’s contributors. They will be offering behind the scenes insight to the making of the documentary, from idea to commission and production, and sharing the importance of LGBTQ+ representation, both on screen and behind the camera, and the impact on audiences.
Following the panel discussion there will be networking drinks and the opportunity to meet WFTV and RTS members and friends from the industry..
