WFTV Some Like It Short: Finding and Pitching Your Project

In the second part of this new strand, host Jayne Chard will be joined by Producer Carol Harding who will be sharing her expertise about finding and pitching your project.

Carol will discuss how to choose the people you want to work with; working collaboratively on the script; creating look books and pitch decks; and where to take projects for finance. She will also be talking about her experience of how making short films can be an effective way into producing and writing feature films.

Carol is currently producing My Name is Leon: an adaptation by Shola Amoo (The Last Tree) of Kit De Waal’s bestselling book of the same title. Director, Kibwe Tavares (Noughts and Crosses).

The Last Witness by Piotr Szkopiak, GFM Films for eOne, Signature Entertainment and Kino Swait, was produced through her company Vicarious Productions.

Previous credits include: 2020 Bafta nominated, Soon Gone: a Windrush Chronicle, eight short films for Douglas Road Productions in collaboration with the Young Vic for BBC4 Arts; Casualty, WPC56; Doctors and Holby City. Feeder for Film London and Metrosexuality, Fugee Girl and Heterosexuality for Film 4 Lab.

Jayne Chard

Jayne has produced feature films Two Heads Creek (2020); B&B, the winner of nine awards at international festivals and Best LGBT Film at the London Independent Film Festival (2017); Dartmoor Killing, Best Thriller at the 2016 National Film Awards. Jayne has also worked as a TV producer on the BAFTA winning series Casualty and documentaries for UK broadcasters. Through her company Hummingbird Films, Jayne has a number of films and Tv projects in development.
