WFTV Meet the Commissioner: YouTube

WFTV Chair, Liz Tucker will be in conversation with YouTube’s Luke Hyams, Head of Originals, YouTube EMEA and Kelly Sweeney, International Production Lead, YouTube. They will be discussing their approach to commissioning, how this differs from the broadcasters and what they are looking for in a YouTube commission.

Luke Hyams

Luke Hyams joined YouTube Originals in 2017, he looks after the platform’s original content productions and development slate. His projects at YouTube Originals have included the documentary Terms and Conditions: A UK Drill Story, Together We Rise, Virtually History, How to be: Behzinga and Birthday Song.

Prior to YouTube Originals, Luke was the Director of Global Content for The Walt Disney Company.  Previously, Luke was Chief Content Officer for International at Maker Studios, and Head of Production at PAE Media, which was based in Bejing City, China.

Kelly Sweeney

Kelly Sweeney joined YouTube Originals in 2016 and oversees the production of UK content output of scripted and unscripted long form shows. She has worked on a number of projects to increase Youtube’s original branded content, including the documentary Terms and Conditions: A UK Drill Story, which premiered on GRM Daily and YouTube, and Virtually History.

Previously, Kelly was Director of International Production/ Maker Studios International at The Walt Disney Company, Head of Production at Plastic Pictures, Director of Video at AOL, and was the first Head of Original Productions at Bebo.
