About the Event
Big Brother is the global television phenomenon that kicked off reality TV as we know it. This year marks 25 years since the show first aired in the Netherlands in 1999. As we mark a quarter-century of surveillance, spectacle, and storytelling, where does Big Brother go next — and what has it left behind?
Our panel including Tamsin Dodgson, Creative Director, Big Brother, Katy Manley, Managing Director, Initial and Jody Collins, Director of Production, Initial, hosted by broadcaster and presenter Ria Hebden, will explore Big Brother’s influence on the business and art of television. We’ll examine the show’s global adaptability, its approach to casting and representation and its enduring power in an era of streaming and social media.
