Marketing & Communications Coordinator

The organisation supports women through the WFTV Awards, its extensive events programme, and professional development initiatives; the Four Nations Mentoring Scheme, the Fearless Leadership Programme and the Kay Mellor Screenwriters’ Lab.  

  

WFTV is entering an exciting new chapter: one of growth, evolution and amplified impact. We’re looking for a passionate, creative and organised Marketing & Communications Coordinator to help us tell our story.  

  

The role will be key in amplifying WFTV’s work across digital and in-person platforms, connecting our community and showcasing the talent and ambition of women across film and television. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will be joining at a pivotal time, helping to shape how WFTV communicates its purpose and programmes to an ever-growing national and international audience.  

  

Terms  

Contract: Full time, fixed term contract 12 months with the possibility to extend. 

Salary: £32,000 per annum  

Location: WFTV’s office is based in Somerset House in Central London. We operate a hybrid working model with team office days typically on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Office access is available full time for candidates who prefer working in an office environment. 

Reporting to: Marketing & Communications Manager 

  

Key Responsibilities Include:  

  • Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns 

  • Create, manage and schedule social media content across WFTV channels 

  • Produce and deploy email marketing content to WFTV’s database (via Mailchimp) 

  • Manage marketing and member activity using WFTV’s CRM System (Beacon) 

  • Draft and edit clear, engaging copy for campaigns, events, and member communications 

  • Monitor and report on campaign performance and audience engagement metrics 

  • Support the promotion and delivery of WFTV events 

  • Contribute to delivering corporate membership, new member acquisition, and member retention campaigns 

  • Support the delivery of WFTV’s marketing and communications strategy  

  • Assist with the delivery of WFTV’s forthcoming development projects 

  • Work closely with the Membership and Office Coordinator to respond to marketing and communication enquiries from WFTV members and partners 

  • Work collaboratively with WFTV team and external partners to support organisational goals 

  • Undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence as required to ensure the successful operation of WFTV’s marketing and communications department

Person Specification:  

  • Experience in a similar marketing and communications role 

  • Passion and knowledge of the film and television industry 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Experience with key social media platforms (e.g Meta suite, LinkedIn, TikTok) 

  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g Mailchimp) 

  • Experience with CMS systems (e.g Wix) 

  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g Beacon) desirable 

  • Strong administration skills and attention to detail  

  • Excellent people skills – including the ability to work with a broad range of external stakeholders  

  • Able to work flexibly, independently, and as part of a small team  

  • Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive and Canva

WFTV (UK) Finance and Operations Manager 

 

Reports to: CEO 

Salary: £32,000 per annum (flat rate)

Location: The WFTV office is currently based in a shared workspace in Somerset House, London. We operate on a hybrid basis and staff are required to come into the office a minimum of two days a week.

ROLE OVERVIEW 

 
We are looking for an experienced Finance and Operations Manager to play a central role in supporting WFTV's financial management, operational efficiency, and organisational growth.  

 

The Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing budgets, managing robust financial systems and leading on the organisation’s core support functions: Finance, HR and Operations. 

 

Working closely with the CEO and Director of Events, Awards and Partnerships, you will drive robust financial processes, lead on recruitment, and oversee key operational functions. This is a varied and high-impact role suited to a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Financial Management 

  • Create and manage organisational and team-level budgets, providing direct support to individual budget holders. 

  • Oversee cost reporting, reconciliation of individual budgets, and monthly end coding. 

  • Prepare figures and forecasts for the annual budget cycle. 

  • Lead annual audit processes. 

  • Oversee all invoicing and payments, ensuring timely processing and accurate records. 

  • Liaise with the bookkeeper and provide necessary information to support monthly payroll. 

 

Strategic & Funding 

  • Support senior leadership with strategic planning and resource management. 

  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of funding strategies. 

  • Prospect for corporate memberships and manage renewal tracking. 

 

Contracts & Compliance 

  • Issue and manage contracts to sponsors and stakeholders. 

  • Issue and manage staff contracts for permanent employees and freelancers. 

  • Oversee organisation policies, including GDPR policy, implementation, and ongoing compliance. 

 

Human Resources & Recruitment 

  • Lead on recruitment processes including writing job advertisements, arranging interviews, and assisting with shortlisting and selection. 

  • Create job descriptions for new and existing roles. 

  • Manage the holiday tracking spreadsheet for all staff. 

  • Onboard new staff members, ensuring a smooth and structured induction experience. 

 

Operations Management 

  • Prepare financial and operational documents for Finance Meetings and Board Meetings. 

  • Support the implementation and management of the organisation’s digital infrastructure, including the CRM system, in collaboration with key team members. 

  • Support awards and events operations as required. 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

 

Essential 

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in finance and operations. 

  • Strong strategic thinking with hands-on delivery capabilities. 

  • Highly organised, with robust attention to detail. 

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and with external partners. 

  • A clear passion for gender equality and WFTV’s mission. 

  • Excellence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and financial management systems (Xero, Soldo or similar). 

 

Desirable 

  • Experience within a membership organisation or non-profit. 

  • Familiarity with the film, television, or wider cultural sectors.

About the Role 

Women in Film & TV (UK) is seeking a highly organised and proactive Event Assistant to support the delivery of our dynamic programme of industry events. This is a temporary hybrid role combining office-based work with online and in-person event delivery. 

 

Our events are at the heart of our organisation, from thought-leading talks and screenings to member meet-ups and networking events. The Event Assistant will play a key role in ensuring our events run smoothly, professionally, and with a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere, working closely with the events team. 

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a purpose-led organisation supporting women working across film, television and the screen industries. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Event Preparation & Coordination 

  • Prepare and circulate detailed event briefs to speakers and internal stakeholders in advance 

  • Manage guest lists, registrations, and attendance tracking. 

  • Print and prepare event materials (agendas, name badges, signage and supporting documents). 

  • Support scheduling, logistics and internal planning processes. 

  • Attend the office as required for planning and event preparation. 

 

Online Event Delivery 

  • Set up and support the delivery of online events using Zoom (meetings and webinars). 

  • Manage breakout rooms, screen sharing, recordings and technical settings. 

  • Provide live technical support to speakers and attendees. 

  • Ensure a seamless and professional virtual experience. 

 

In-Person Event Support 

  • Provide on-site check-in and registration support. 

  • Assist with member meet-ups, networking events and panel discussions. 

  • Support speakers and guests to ensure a positive experience 

  • Help maintain the welcoming and inclusive tone of WFTV events 

  • Post-event reporting and administration. 

  • Distribute post-event feedback forms. 

  • Collate and summarise feedback. 

  • Prepare event reports including attendance data and key insights. 

  • Maintain accurate records and support evaluation processes. 

 

Skills & Experience 

  • Previous experience supporting events, hospitality, or administrative functions. 

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. 

  • Confident technical ability, particularly with Zoom and website platforms for booking systems such as Wix or similar. 

  • Confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including venues, suppliers, event partners, guest speakers and members, 

  • Clear and professional written communication skills. 

  • Friendly, professional and member-focused approach. 

  • Ability to work calmly and flexibly in a live event environment. 

  • Interest in film, television and the creative industries is highly desirable.
