Media accountants and advisers Moore Kingston Smith will be running a session focusing on the new off-payroll working rule that comes into effect in the private sector from 6 April 2021. This is a fundamental change to the way companies engage individuals providing business to business services. While Tax Partner Mike Hayes will be highlighting the details most relevant to the TV and film sector, Moore Kingston Smith HR Consultancy Partner Amy Cretten will be discussing the status of workers and their rights within the context of IR35 and as a result of Brexit.
During this webinar MKS will cover:
- IR35/off-payroll working rules – where are we now?
- How the changes fit with the film, TV and production industry guidance notes
- What are the tax implications?
- Which businesses need to comply with the rules?
- What status do these workers have and what benefits are they entitled to?
- What the changes and Brexit mean for the rights of workers
- What actions should businesses and freelancers take?
