About the Event
Please be aware: This page contains references to themes of abortion
One in three women in the UK will have an abortion in their lifetime. Abortion is a common health experience and yet we don’t often see it accurately depicted in UK TV and film. Writers, producers and directors in the WFTV membership are invited to a workshop exploring how we can create more realistic and varied accounts of abortion in UK film and TV, enhancing understanding of this common women’s health experience while ensuring that those who undergo abortions are accurately represented.
The workshop is the first of a series on women’s health issues and represents a collaboration between WFTV and Repro@UCL, a network of UCL academics and clinicians who work on reproduction, broadly defined.
