Following a screening of Sundance award-winning feature documentary Birds of War, WFTV members are invited to join us for a workshop that isn't your typical post-screening Q&A. This session turns the questions back on the room: who gets to tell a story, and who decides that?
Drawing on the experience of both directors, Janay Boulos and Abd Alkader Habak, will talk openly about credit, payment, contracts, and rights, and about the standards they bring, often without realising it, when judging who gets to tell a story and how well it's told. Expect an honest, informal conversation, a space to think through your own practice and leave with something to carry into your next project.
