About the Event
Our industry has a duty to reflect life as it is in the real world; to inspire, encourage and support real and sustainable change inclusive of all marginalised groups. Over the last year, the Black Lives Matter movement has given a greater focus and urgency to diversity in the British film & TV industry. But with 1 in 5 UK residents living with a disability and only 5.8% crew working behind the scenes (CDN Diamond Report, 2020), it's clear more needs to be done to champion disabled talent.
WFTV is teaming up with Creative England and Triple C for Creative England’s final crew night of the year. We’re throwing visibility on disability and celebrating just what is being done to encourage us to think differently about representation.
Join us as we showcase deaf and disabled talent and a host of experts working to improve the status quo of disability in film and TV.
We ourselves also want to boost ways to reach deaf and disabled audiences and improve accessibility. This event will be live captioned and a BSL interpreter shall be present for the panel discussion.
Panel
Chris Bradburn, Filmmaker at Bradburn Films
Justin Edgar, Creative Director at 104 Films
Lizzie Banks, Producer of Oska Bright Film Festival
