About the Event

Equal Play is an award-winning documentary which explores the transformative power of sports for disabled people through the stories of two British children. Shown on Channel 4 during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the film follows Marley and Tammy who face daily exclusion from sport and physical education at school because of their disabilities but fight against discrimination as they discover the transformative power of sport.

Over 45% of the shooting crew and HODs across the entire production identified as disabled, and Director Lily Ahree Siegel, Disability Consultant Lindsey Dryden and BFI Disability Inclusion Lead Clare Baines will discuss the making of the film, including how it was developed in accordance with disability guidelines. The panel will be in conversation with Wendy Mitchell.
