*Event Postponed* Actors’ Group: How to Get into an Accent Fast

Join us over June and July for an Actors’ Group focus. This special event series will focus on the craft of acting with talks, workshops and speed networking to help expand your practice and hone your skills.

From the business of acting and tips to help you prepare for auditions, to the opportunity to network with producers and directors, there’s something for actors at all career stages.

This session is a great opportunity for actors to upskill and learn techniques on how to get into an accent fast to prepare for an audition, role or move into character when on set.

Hosted by accent coach Elspeth Morrison, this will be an interactive workshop offering practical advice and tips to actors to quickly identify the right accent for a role, stay within the accent, and extra resources to help you nail the delivery. As there will be some interactivity in this session, it would be good if attendees could have their cameras on.

Dialect Coach Elspeth Morrison works for the BBC, Channel 4, Sky, Amazon, ITV and leading independents and regularly works with actors on a one-to-one basis to perfect their accents and dialects for theatre, radio as well as TV and film. She regularly guests on programmes such as Front Row and the Today programme on the BBC and Channel 5 News to add a bit of knowledge about the voice and its workings. Her working life is varied and in the last few weeks she has worked on accents including General American, Russian, Manchester, Trinidad and Birmingham. She also coaches voice coaches how to work this magic!

How will the online event work?

This event will be live streamed via Zoom.us. Viewing details will be sent via your confirmation email.

This is an interactive session and will be taking place as a Zoom meeting. Attendees should access the event using a device with audio and video functions to participate.
