WFTV members are invited to this online Q&A panel discussion with cast members Mae Muller, Rawdat Quadri and Jelena Gavrilovic, of upcoming feature, Gassed Up. The Q&A will be moderated by producer of the film, Hester Ruoff. 

Members can also watch Gassed Up in advance of the Q&A event via a screener link. 

There will be an opportunity to ask the panel questions during the last 15 minutes of the session.

**Members will also have the opportunity to watch Gassed Up in advance of the Q&A event. The screening link will be sent to you separately on 1st February, and will be available to access from 1st February to 9th February**

Gassed Up Synopsis

Set in London, the film follows a group of young men in a moped gang, who, desperate to make ends meet, have turned to petty theft. Written by Archie Maddocks and Taz Skylar, it features an exciting young cast, including Stephen Odubola (Blue Story),Taz Skylar (One Piece) and singer Mae Muller, as well as a host of recognisable names, including Harry Pinero, Yung Filly and Ms Banks.

At the centre of the story is 20-year-old Ash (Odubola) who is trying to support his younger sister and help his struggling mother. Fighting to balance his pure intentions and the allure of fast cash, he and his friends soon get drawn into the web of an Albanian crime family. He must choose between loyalty to his friends and family, and the draw of a fast, thrilling lifestyle.

The film will release in UK cinemas on the 9th February 2024.

Hester Ruoff

Hester is a BAFTA and BIFA-nominated producer who founded Ascendant Fox Films with Bart Ruspoli in 2021. She began her producing journey prior to that with her company, Burton Fox Films, as an Exec producer for the BAFTA-winning film Convience, and then went on to produce the thought-provoking short film Gerry, starring Joan Collins, which earned numerous festival awards and secured a place on the BAFTA long-list in 2018.   She produced a variety of shorts before making her feature debut in 2021 with the one-shot hit indie darling Boiling Point with Stephen Graham, Malachi Kirby, Vinette Robinson and Ray Panthaki, which was released to worldwide acclaim. She joined forces with Bart Ruspoli again to produce Netflix’s A Violent Man before filming the action thriller Gassed Up which had its Worldwide premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2023 and won the Audience Award for Best Feature. Her debut TV series, BOILING POINT, was critically acclaimed and premiered on the BBC last year.

Mae Muller

Mae is an English singer and songwriter. She received mainstream recognition after releasing the single Better Days in 2021, which went on to chart in the top 40 in both the UK and US. Recently she represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and will make her acting debut as Kelly in Gassed Up.

Rawdat Quadri

Rawdat is a recent graduate of The Brit School. Her first acting role was as a series regular on the new Flowers In The Attic series, where she starred alongside Max Irons. Rawdat's film debut is Gassed Up, and she is set to appear in a new ITV series The Tower.

Jelena Gavrilovic

Jelena Gavrilovic is a Serbian actress popular throughout the Balkans. She has a significant career in television, film, and theatre. She is playing one of the main roles in the US fantasy series The Outpost, she also starred with Salma Hayek in the American thriller Everli, played in RAI Fiction film L'Angleo from Sarajevo and is also known for animated films dubbing, the most popular is her role in Disney’s Frozen- Jelena is the Serbian voice for Elsa and the Disney studio included her among the best 25 voices for the role globally. Jelena acts in many languages: English, Russian, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian.

How will the online event work?

This event will be live streamed via Zoom.us. Viewing details will be sent via your confirmation.

Attending participants will not be visible to others and will be muted throughout the session. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask their questions to the panel by using the Q&A feature.
