About the Event

In December 2021 ScreenSkills launched an initiative to encourage and fast track hairdressers and make-up artists with experience in working with Black hair or with makeup for people of colour into the film and television industry, aiming to create greater diversity of crew behind the camera to match the changes happening on screen.

Hosted by Akua Gyamfi, this event will bring together Hair and Make-up Designers, Regina Meessen and Nora Robertson, and Head of Film Continuing Professional Development and Future Skills at ScreenSkills, Emma Turner, to discuss the progress made and what else the industry should be doing to further improve diversity and inclusion in the Hair and Make-up department, as well as practical initiatives that can be implemented on set.
