About the Event

Prano Bailey-Bond, co-writer and director of Censor, joins Wendy Mitchell for a conversation around her debut feature Censor. Censor is a psychological horror set in 1985 that follows film censor Enid. Meticulous in her work, Enid is assigned to review a disturbing film from the archive that echoes her hazy childhood memories and she begins to unravel how this eerie work might be tied to her past.

We’ll hear about Prano’s journey from making short films to her first feature film, her inspirations and insight to the writing process with her co-writer Anthony Fletcher. The conversation will also explore her collaborative process with lead actress Niamh Algar, and the discussions that they had around Enid as well as working in the horror genre as a female director.

Attendees will also be offered the option to select a ticket to view Censor. A link and access code will be shared ahead of the event. In order to receive a screening link, you must book a ticket by 17:00 on Wednesday 11 August.
