How to Smash Your Pitch with SMASH Media

How to SMASH Your Pitch is a practical online session designed to help filmmakers get Pitch Fit.

Led by independent feature producers and My SMASH Media co-founders Fiona Gillies and Christine Hartland, the session draws on our experience of pitching and developing projects, as well as working with creators and industry decision-makers through the SMASH platform.

We’ll share practical tips and techniques to help you understand what makes a pitch work, structure your ideas clearly and communicate them with confidence.

We’ll cover the key elements of pitching: Preparation – understanding who you are pitching to; Planning – knowing what information your pitch needs; Delivery – communicating with clarity and confidence; and Follow-ups – handling questions and turning a pitch into a conversation.

We’ll share examples, practical advice and tips from our How to SMASH Your Pitch toolkit. Towards the end of the session, there may also be an opportunity for a few participants to share their pitch and receive constructive feedback.
