Join us for a conversation with Clelia Mountford, co-founder of Merman (Frayed, This Way Up, Motherland).
In conversation with WFTV's CEO Katie Bailiff, Clelia will be discussing her career journey to date, from producing radio comedies and dramas and theatre to moving to Head of Comedy at RDF prior to co-founding Merman alongside Sharon Horgan.Â
Clelia will be sharing her experience establishing an indie, offering insight to her day-to-day role as co-founder of the award-winning production company, where she develops and produces a multitude of projects with international talent, as well as sharing her tips for those considering setting up their own indie.

Having co-founded Merman in 2014, with co-founder Sharon Horgan, Clelia develops and produces a multitude of projects with a host of international talent.
Clelia has recently executive produced two series of comedy drama Frayed (Sky One/ABC Australia) written by and starring Sarah Kendall; brand new comedy Frank of Ireland (Ch4/Amazon), created by Brian and Domhnall Gleeson and Michael Moloney; Shining Vale, an upcoming American horror comedy set to premiere in Starz, the new animated comedy series Housebroken (Fox), starting Lisa Kudrow and created by Sharon Horgan, Clea Duvall, Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan; as well as both series of This Way Up (Channel 4/HULU) written by Aisling Bea and starring Bea and Sharon Horgan; and three series of Motherland (BBC Two), including the critically acclaimed Motherland Christmas Special(BBC Two). She also produced two series of the award-winning There She Goes (BBC Two) written by Shaun Pye and starring David Tennant and Jessica Hynes.
As Producer, Clelia has many high-profile projects to her name including David Cross’s Bliss (Sky One), The Circuit (Channel 4), the third series of Todd Margaret (IFC), Cockroaches (ITV2), Mr Sloane (Sky Atlantic) and A Young Doctor’s Notebook & Other Stories (Sky Arts) starring Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe.
Prior to founding Merman, Clelia held roles as Head of Comedy at RDF and Head of Radio and TV Script Associate at TalkbackThames. Clelia began her career in theatre and radio, producing over 50 radio comedies and dramas for BBC Radio 4, 3 and 2 and assistant produced numerous no 1 theatre tours and West End shows.
