Join Belinda Campbell from Red Planet Pictures in conversation with acclaimed screenwriter Kate Brooke as they explore the recipe of creating a good TV drama series and the process of getting the series to air. In this session, they’ll be focusing on questions around
- What is great source material?
- The process of turning source material into a script
- The creative relationship between producer and writer
With both Belinda and Kate sharing through their stories and experiences - past, present and future – they’ll give you real life examples alongside tips and tricks throughout the session.
Belinda Campbell, Joint Managing Director, Red Planet Pictures
Belinda is joint MD of Red Planet Pictures where she oversees development and Exec Produces all of the indie’s content, including Jane Austen’s Sanditon on ITV and Masterpiece in US. Other credits include Sky’s Hooten and the Lady,  and the BBC 1 series’ Dickensian, The Ark and The Passing Bell. Belinda also set up crime drama Death in Paradise, which is celebrating it’s 10th series airing currently on BBC1.
Kate Brooke, Screenwriter & Showrunner
Kate is an acclaimed screenwriter and showrunner both in the UK and US. Her most recent successes have been on Bancroftfor ITV, A Discovery of Witches for Sky, and ITV’s period drama, Mr. Selfridge. Kate has also adapted and originated many other television films and series including: Ice Cream Girls, The Making of a Lady and Case Sensitive.
