Media law firm Simkins invites WFTV members to an in-person breakfast seminar at their London-based offices. Members will be joined by media law associates Juliane Althoff and Astrid Bulmer, who will be discussing the key commercial terms and legal considerations when negotiating writer agreements for scripted film and television projects. There will be an opportunity after the seminar to ask questions and meet fellow working producers.

Juliane Althoff, Associate

Jules is an Associate in our Commercial group.

She joined the firm in September 2012 as a Trainee and, having qualified in 2014, she has built up expertise in all aspects of film and television production across a variety of genres and platforms. Jules advises producers and other content creators on the full range of audio-visual productions on both scripted and non-scripted projects from development, production, and financing, through to distribution. Jules also has strong experience working with financiers on all aspects of film and television financing. Before converting to law, Jules completed a Masters in Television Journalism, and she has experience in working for television companies in England and Germany. She speaks fluent German.

Astrid Bulmer, Associate

Astrid is an Associate in our Commercial group.

She joined the firm in September 2017 as a Trainee and now undertakes commercial and corporate work in a number of areas, with a particular focus on the film and television sectors. Astrid advises film and television clients at all stages of the production lifecycle, including in relation to the development, financing, production, licensing, distribution and exploitation of films, television programmes and other content across both traditional and new media platforms. Astrid advises a broad range of clients, including individual rights holders (such as writers and estates), production companies (of all sizes) and financiers (across both film and television). Astrid read Economics at Cambridge University. Astrid currently serves on the board of Animated Women UK, a non-profit organisation that aims to encourage and support women in the animation and VFX industries.
