About the Event

We’re joined by Golden Globe nominated Jane Horrocks to discuss her journey as an actress across film, television & theatre. Led by Esther Coles, they’ll discuss some of her memorable roles from playing LV in Little Voice to Bubble in Absolutely Fabulous to Wendy in Bloods. Jane has truly built a career with a strong portfolio of characters. Onstage, her last performance was in 2020 as Nell in Endgame at Young Vic and this year she co-created an exhibition, Yolk and Aliens, at 2021’s Brighton Festival.

We’ll find out what she looks for in a project, her experience of being a woman working in film and television for over twenty years and the changes that she’s seen and been a part of, sharing what she’s learnt along the way.

Jane’s most recent project Bloods is a six-part Sky Original series that follows two paramedics, tough-acting loner Maleek (Samson Kayo) and over-friendly divorcee Wendy (Jane Horrocks), who are partnered together as an unlikely duo. At first, the pairing seems dead on arrival, but through the fast paced, never-ending rush of 999 calls, the two ultimately become each other’s lifelines.

Attendees will also be offered the option to select a ticket to view some episodes of Bloods. A link and access code will be shared ahead of the event. In order to receive a screening link, you must book a ticket by 17:00 on Wednesday 29 September.
