About the Event
As part of our programme of events to mark this year’s International Women’s Day, we will be joined by spokeswomen from the breast cancer charity Future Dreams for a Lunch & Learn wellbeing session.
In this event, Future Dreams spokeswoman Amanda Hanison and TV producer and campaigner Helen Addis and will be sharing the importance of checking your breasts, giving a short talk about their journeys with breast cancer followed by a demonstration and Q&A to empower you with the knowledge on how to self-check.
Future Dreams is a breast cancer charity dedicated to raising funds for support, awareness and research for those touched by breast cancer. Since 2008 they have raised over £6.3m and are currently building a new breast cancer support centre in Kings Cross called Future Dreams House.
Since her own breast cancer diagnosis in 2013, Amanda Hanison has been a dedicated member of the Future Dreams team. She is a founder member of Show & Tell Breast Cancer Reconstruction Support Group at The Royal Free Hospital and has been invited by The Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust to sit on its Steering Committee.
Helen Addis is a TV producer, mother of three and Future Dreams ambassador. Founder of The Lorraine Show’s #ChangeAndCheck campaign, Helen shares her story to encourage others to check their boobs for the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
Kari Colmans heads up corporate awareness and fundraising for Future Dreams by visiting businesses across the country to educate people about self-checking and spread awareness about the work of Future Dreams.
Sasha Speed joined the Future Dreams team in 2020. Sasha started her career in Media Banking at Coutts and has since worked with clients on a freelance basis. Sasha works with the Lunch & Learn team having decided that it was time to apply her business and financial acumen to supporting our worthwhile cause.
