WFTV Chair, Liz Tucker will be in conversation with Tom Giles, Controller of Current Affairs at ITV who will share his thoughts about what makes great television and explain what you need to do to get that elusive commission.

Tom’s department is responsible for a wide range of shows Tonight, Exposure; Peston on Sunday; The Martin Lewis Money Show; On Assignment; The Kyle Files; Fraud Squad; Eat, Shop, Save; School Swap: The Class Divide and the documentary strand Exposure.

Tom Giles, Controller of Current Affairs, ITV

Before becoming Controller of Current Affairs, ITV, Tom worked at the BBC, where his roles included looking at the future of the corporation’s current affairs output; working as creative director in the specialist factual department; and editing Panorama.

Notable programmes during his time as Panorama editor included the BAFTA-winning Undercover Care: The Abuse Exposed and Fifa’s Dirty Secrets, controversially broadcast three days before the football governing body’s vote on the staging of the World Cup.

This event will be live streamed via Zoom.us. Viewing details will be sent via your confirmation.

Attending participants will not be visible to others and will be muted throughout the session. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask their questions to the panel by using the Q&A feature.
