About the Event
For our next Meet the Commissioner, we will be joined by Cicelia Deane, Editorial and Commissioning Executive at BET UK, a Paramount brand.
Cicelia is responsible for developing, sourcing and leading all aspects of original long and short-form unscripted content for BET in the UK, for shows to play out on 5, BET International YouTube page, and Sky VOD.
So far, for BET UK, Cicelia has overseen several award-winning and nominated shows, including The Evolution of Black British Music (won the RTS Arts award in 2023), Big Money Munch, Dating Black, Now You Know w/ Julie Adenuga, GARMS: Black Culture’s Influence on British Fashion, Living Lyrics and Moments That shaped Queer Black Britain.
In conversation with our host Jasmine Dotiwala, Cicelia will be discussing the current landscape of documentaries and sharing insights on how to get a project commissioned.
