In this strand of WFTV events, members are invited to Meet the Producer. This session will feature our host and fellow producer Michelle Stein in conversation with lTV Daytime Producer Funmi Olutoye.
Michelle and Funmi will discuss Funmi’s career path, along with any current trends she’s noticing within the industry, and insights on funding and developing projects.
There will be an opportunity to ask Funmi questions during the last 15 minutes of the session.

About Funmi Olutoye, Guest Producer
Funmi Olutoye is an NCTJ-qualified multimedia journalist, producer/director and writer with 14 years experience in the media industry. She has recently been named as one of 42 global BAFTA Breakthrough Talents for 2023. There are 20 in the UK. Â Â With a successful track record of filmmaking, Funmi has been a producer on a variety of live television shows and has been a producer / director for a number of features and documentaries. She is passionate about telling powerful stories, particularly those who often escape the spotlight. Â Â Funmi has worked in almost every role in a television newsroom. From being one of four people selected for the ITV News Traineeship in 2012 training to become a junior producer to being in front of camera as a news reporter and presenter at the local television station London Live. Â Â Â Since joining ITV Daytime in 2017, Funmi has worked on three of its shows: Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning. She is currently a full-time Features Producer at Good Morning Britain; getting the nation talking about the show's most fiery and talked-about debates, lead producing on the show's Black History Month coverage and self-shooting films for the annual flagship Christmas campaign, One Million Minutes. Â Â Funmi is currently on secondment to the Lorraine show until February 2024.
About Michelle Stein, Host and Producer
Michelle is s BAFTA, RTS nominated and BIFA winning producer.  Her most recent feature film, sci-fi Sky Peals, from Moin Hussain premiered in Venice Critic’s week in 2023 and was backed by Film4, BFI and Screen Yorkshire and is being sold by Bankside.  Over the last 16 years, Michelle has worked on a plethora of projects from producing a micro-budget first feature that secured international theatrical distribution to developing a big-budget animation franchise with Aardman.  Michelle has a keen eye for international-level talent and has produced content that has screened in competition at A-list festivals such as Cannes, SXSW, LFF and Tribeca and been bought by the BBC and Sky.  Michelle’s previous company, Escape Films, was the recipient of a received a BFI Vision Award.
How will the online event work?
This event will be live streamed via Zoom.us. Viewing details will be sent via your confirmation.
Attending participants will not be visible to others and will be muted throughout the session. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions by using the Q&A feature.
