The Beanie Bubble: In Conversation with Director and Writer Kristin Gore

Join WFTV for a conversation with Director and Writer Kristin Gore, who will be sharing behind the scenes insight to the development and making of The Beanie Bubble, now streaming on Apple TV+.

Why did the world suddenly treat stuffed animals like gold? Ty Warner was a frustrated toy salesman until his collaboration with three women grew his masterstroke of an idea into the biggest toy craze in history. Starring Zach Galifianakis, Elizabeth Banks and Sarah Snook, The Beanie Bubble is an inventive story about what and who we value, and the unsung heroes whose names didn't appear on the heart-shaped tag.

Director and Writer Kristin Gore will be sharing behind the scenes insight to the development and making of The Beanie Bubble, from developing the story to setting the tone for this behind-the-scenes look at a defining 90s trend.

Members will also have the opportunity to watch The Beanie Bubble in advance of the Q&A event. In order to receive a screening link, you must book a ticket by Friday 4 August at 5pm. Unfortunately we won't be able to issue screeners after this time. Screening links will be issued closer to the event.

Kristin Gore is a New York Times bestselling novelist, Emmy-nominated television writer (Saturday Night Live, Futurama) and past collaborator of David O. Russell, Bennett Miller, Jay Roach and Spike Jonze. She was a writer on Her (Oscar winner for Best Screenplay) and Foxcatcher (Oscar nominee for Best Screenplay).

How will the online event work?

This event will be live streamed via Zoom.us. Viewing details will be sent via your confirmation.

Attending participants will not be visible to others and will be muted throughout the session. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions by using the Q&A feature.
