About the Event

Join WFTV for an evening of socialising in Belfast and find out more about the 2024 WFTV Northern Ireland Mentoring Scheme.

Our in-person networking sessions are for all women working in the film and TV industry. Come and meet some of the WFTV team, find out more about our Northern Ireland Mentoring Scheme and activities and meet new people in a friendly and informal setting.

Event Schedule:

18:30: Arrival and check-in

19:00-19:20: Q&A with WFTV Northern Ireland Mentoring Scheme Producer Sarah McCaffrey and mentees Lucy Martin, Christine Murphy and Lisa Keogh

19:20-21:00: Networking with WFTV members and colleagues from the industry

Q&A Panel 

Lucy Martin is a Camera Operator with experience across documentaries, commercials, EPK, and corporates. She has produced visuals for clients such as HBO, National Geographic, and leading brands such as Johnnie Walker Whiskey. Having been mentored by D.O.P Jenny Atcheson in drama, she also has a another string to her bow.

Lisa Keogh is a writer/director working across fiction, documentary, and commercials.

She is currently a WFTV Mentee 2023 and part of The Writer’s Lab UK & Ireland 2022/23. She was part of the BBC Writersroom, Drama Room 2017. She has been a recipient of the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig’s Filmmaker’s Bursary. She was one of NI Screen’s Emerging Auteurs 2014/15 and the 1st runner up of their New Talent Focus 2013/14.

For TV, she directed Clean by Karis Halsall as part of BBC3’s The Break, Series 4 and was the 2nd Unit Director on The Deceived, a 4-part thriller written by Lisa McGee & Tobias Beer.

Christine Murphy is a screenwriter from Belfast. She has written for several TV series including Emmerdale, Doctors, Eastenders and Hope Street. Her debut feature film Cup Cake won the Audience Award at the Belfast Film Festival. 

She won the Irish Writers’ Guild Award for her debut Radio 4 drama Kicking the Air starring Vicky McClure and Sophia Myles. She has been commissioned by C4 Drama to write the pilot of her original series Menopause is Murder and her series Happy as Larry is also in development.

She is an alumnus of the prestigious eQuinoxe Europe Programme and of a unique TV Series Development Programme with the writers/producers of Mad Men. She recently completed David Puttnam’s Creative Producing Masterclass and the MediaXchange/Screen Ireland Series Accelerator course for creative producers/showrunners. She was a 2022 WFTV Mentee and her mentor was Sharon Horgan.
