Join WFTV in Leeds for a special opportunity to take a tour of BBC’s Look North studio followed by a conversation with lead presenter Amy Garcia.
BBC’s Look North has brought to screens daily regional news for over 50 years, celebrating the people and stories from Yorkshire. Join us for this special event to take a behind the scenes look at the production with a studio tour and opportunity to watch a live broadcast of the evening news programme, followed by Q&A with presenter Amy Garcia.
In conversation with Alison Hunt, Amy will be discussing her journey into the industry and career so far, sharing her experiences reporting the news and presenting the programme over the past ten years as well as what she has learnt along the way.

Amy Garcia
Having started her career in children’s television, she returned to education and completed an MA in journalism before joining BBC Look North in 2009 as a broadcast journalist.
Born and bred in Wakefield, Amy has held various roles at the BBC including a brief stint as a reporter/ presenter at BBC South Today and BBC3 60 second news. She took her place on the red sofa as Harry Gration’s co-anchor in 2013.
Over ten years, she has reported on some of the biggest moments in Yorkshire, often providing a local voice on national stories.
Host, Alison Hunt
After training as a Broadcast Journalist, Alison made the move to TV drama where she has been for the past twelve years.
Starting out as Researcher on Coronation Street, she progressed to Assistant Script Editor and then Script Editor.
During her time at ITV she has also worked on Emmerdale and travelled to Australia to gain experience with the editorial team on Neighbours.
She is passionate about opening up access to the industry and championing talent from under-represented backgrounds. Alongside her day job she also works with several Universities, giving students advice and guidance on kick starting their career.
