Co-hosted with Gravity Media Manchester, Versa Studios and Side Street Studio, join us for our first event in Manchester of 2023 on Thursday 02 February and an evening with Sally Lindsay followed by networking.
In this special event actor, writer and Creative Director of the award-winning Manchester based production company Saffron Cherry Productions, Sally Lindsay will be discussing her career in the industry so far and what she has learnt along the way.
From her first TV break in hit sitcom The Royle Family and bringing to screens one of Britain’s best loved barmaids ‘Shelley Unwin’ in Coronation Street to her recent series The Madame Blanc Mysteries which Sally created, co-wrote and stars.
Sally will also be sharing insights to her role as Creative Director of successful independent Manchester based production company, Saffron Cherry Productions.
After the talk there will be networking drinks and the opportunity to meet colleagues from around the industry.

Sally Lindsay
Sally got her first TV break in the sitcom The Royle Family. Roles in both Phoenix Nights and Fat Friends followed soon after.
Sally then went on to create one of Britain’s best loved barmaids, ‘Shelley Unwin’ in Coronation Street, where she enjoyed a very happy five years.
Since then, Sally has appeared in numerous shows including Cold Call, Intruder, the BAFTA winning Murdered For Being Different, Intruder, Dial M for Middlesborough, Still Open All Hours, Ordinary Liesand Moving On to name just a few.
With her friend Suranne Jones, Sally created Scott and Bailey for Red Productions, in which she also starred. She also headed up seven series of Sky1’s Mount Pleasant.
Most recently Sally created, co-wrote & stars in the brand new series The Madame Blanc Mysteries for Acorn & C5. Season 2 is currently on air.
Later in 2023, Sally will be seen in the new TV drama Love Rat in which she also plays the lead role of Emma.
Sally has also diversified into presenting and fronted the BBC Documentary Emmeline Pankhurst: The Making of a Manchester Militant. She also hosted Tenable for ITV and co-hosted Pointless for BBC.
Sally’s film credits include Pond Life, and the voice of ‘Piella’ in the Oscar-nominated animation A Matter of Loaf and Death. Sally is also the voice of Halifax in the C5 animation series The World According to Grandpa.
Sally is Creative Director of Saffron Cherry Productions, an award-winning Manchester based production company. Sally is an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society and is also the President of the Women of the Year Award.
