Kate Davis

The recipient of the WFTV ‘Creative Technology’ Award in 2019 and one of few female dubbing mixers in the country, Kate has worked in Post Production for over 25 years, falling in love with audio as a runner at BBC Birmingham and now mixing some of the UK’s most popular factual, entertainment and arts programmes including Travelman: 48 Hours in…, DNA Journeys and Glastonbury: 50 Years and Counting.  After discovering her passion for sound and the difference it can make, Kate learnt her trade and attention to detail whilst working on Birmingham’s high end drama output, later adapting those skills working on faster turnaround shows like Countryfile, Gardeners World and Hairy Bikers.

Kate’s been Head of Audio at Directors Cut Films for the past 11 years and was nominated for a BAFTA in 2019 for her work on the Classic Albums Amy Winehouse: Back to Black film.

Alongside her studies at Point Blank Music School, her career began as a Junior Sound Engineer at Lana Banana studios, specialising in ADR & voice-over.

She’s had the pleasure of recording and editing for the likes of Disney, Discovery, and the BBC. She’s also had the opportunity to gain experience in the short form industry, leading voice-over sessions for advertisements.

This experience led her to an Audio Assistant role at ENVY post, Soho London, where post production has become her area of expertise. She’s highly motivated and excited to continue her journey to carve out a successful career as a Dubbing Mixer and Sound Editor.
