About the Event

For this month’s Writers’ Group, we will be spotlighting writing for animation in Children’s TV with a masterclass in the writing process behind the hit global television series for pre-school audiences, Bing.

Produced by Acamar Films, with Dublin based studio Brown Bag Films, Bing has seen extraordinary success since it launched in the UK in 2014, winning the International Emmy for Best Children’s Programme, the Writer’s Guild Award for best writing in a children’s programme, and a BAFTA nomination for best children’s programme. Adapted specially for television, from the original books by Ted Dewan, Bing celebrates the joyful, messy reality of pre-school life and finds the big stories in the little moments.

In this event, Agent Christina Pickworth will be in conversation with Nikica Markot-David, Chief Production & Editorial Officer at Acamar Films. They will be discussing the making of Bing offering insight to creating the authenticity of the series and reversioning of Bing across global territories, how they work with writers and dissecting the process of writing an episode.

Nikica joined Acamar in 2017 as a Production Assistant working on Bing Series four and has worked her way to her current role of Chief Production and Editorial Officer.
