Writers’ Group: In Conversation with Writer, Producer and Showrunner Anna Winger

For October's Writers’ Group we will be joined by Anna Winger, writer, producer, and creator of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series Unorthodox (Netflix) and Deutschland83 (Amazon).

Anna will be discussing her journey into the industry and career to date, balancing the roles of writer and producer and sharing insight to her writing process for her most recent Netflix series, Transatlantic, about Varian Fry and the Emergency Rescue Committee who helped over 2000 refugees escape occupied France in 1940.

Anna Winger is a writer, producer, and creator of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series Unorthodox (Netflix) and Deutschland83 (Amazon). Her new limited series is Transatlantic, about Varian Fry and the Emergency Rescue Committee, who helped over 2000 refugees escape occupied France in 1940. It premieres on Netflix April 7, 2023. Winger was raised by anthropologists in Kenya, Massachusetts and Mexico. She studied at Columbia and now lives in Berlin with her family.

Attending participants will not be visible to others and will be muted throughout the session. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask their questions to the panel by using the Q&A feature.
