About the Event
Join WFTV for a conversation with writer, actor and comedian Kat Sadler.
Hosted by Christina Pickworth, Kat will be discussing her journey into the industry and career so far and creating her new BBC Three comedy Such Brave Girls. Kat will be offering a behind the scenes insight to the making of the series, sharing her experience of writing and starring in the show.
Kat Sadler is a British writer, actor, and comedian.
Kat created, wrote, produced, and stars in the upcoming British sitcom for the BBC called Such Brave Girls. The sitcom is set to air in late November on BBC Three. The plot is about a family of women, a mother and her two daughters, who are navigating life armed with nothing but a wrapped view of the world, and poor judgement skills. Kat plays the role of Josie and stars opposite her real-life sister Lizzie Davidson who plays her sister in the show. Other cast include Louise Brealey and Paul Bazely. Such Brave Girls is directed by Marco Alessi and is produced by Catherine Gosling Fuller and Various Artists Ltd in association with A24. 2022, saw Kat co-write an episode of the upcoming ITV2 series Tell Me Everything. The British teen drama television series was created by Mark O’Sullivan and is centred around young teens, highlighting the very specific challenges faced by this generation and the relegated effects on their mental health. In the same year Kat was commissioned to write and star in her own BBC Radio 4 series, called Kat Sadler's Screen Time. The show is a fun cautionary tale of how young people live their lives through their phones and social media outlets. In 2019, Kat was awarded the prestigious BBC comedy writing bursary which gives writers the exceptional opportunity to secure a contract to write for a year across a variety of BBC Studio shows. 2018, saw Kat write and act in the BBC Three mini-series Quickies which featured a new generation of Brtish comedy talent. Kat starred opposite Dominic Ashton, Holly Campbell, and Steph Browne in these one-off comedy originals featuring new faces in contemporary spaces. Kat started her career in stand up and has twice been nominated for the BBC New Comedian of the Year award. She also wrote and performed in her own (“viscerally funny” – The List) sketch show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018. Other television writing credits include: The Jonathan Ross Show (ITV1), Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back (Channel 4), Frankie Boyle’s New World Order(BBC Two), Unforgivable (Dave), and The Mash Report (BBC Two).
