Writers’ Group: How to Work with a Script Editor, in conversation with Molly Rees
Time & Location
About the Event
For this month’s writers’ group host Christina Pickworth will be in conversation with script editor, Molly Rees.
They will be discussing Molly’s journey in the industry, her role as a script editor and how she works with writers to develop projects. In this session Molly will be sharing tips on how to receive and implement feedback, key areas to think about when storylining and questions that can help shift focus to move forward with a script when writers’ block strikes.
Molly Rees is a Script Editor. Having trained at The Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet School, Molly ‘found her feet’ (pun definitely intended) in the film and TV industry at the age of 17. She initially worked in production, before becoming a Development Executive at Unstoppable Film & Television. When the company joined All3Media, she built a scripted TV slate from scratch, having projects greenlit and in development with many of the UK’s major broadcasters, more recently producing a short for BBC iPlayer's 'Sparks' series. She script edited The Drowning (Channel 5’s highest-rated drama) and is now a freelance Script Editor currently working on Good Omens 2.
