About the Event

For this month’s writers’ group we will be joined by comedian, writer and actor, Sarah Kendall.

In conversation with Lorna Woolfson, Sarah will be discussing her career journey and breaking into the UK industry, how she balanced the roles of creator, writer and lead actor in Frayed and her experience of bringing the show back to screens for a second series, as well as sharing insight to her writing process.

There will also be time at the end of the discussion to ask questions during the Q&A.

Sarah Kendall, Writer & Comedian

Sarah Kendall is an award-winning comedian and writer whose stand-up shows have been nominated for both the Perrier and Edinburgh Best Comedy Show awards. She regularly performs at major International Festivals, including the Edinburgh Fringe and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Series One and Two of Sarah’s radio show Australian Trilogy (BBC Radio 4) won two Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards and the BBC Audio Drama Award. Sarah's TV credits include Motherland, The Other One and Taskmaster (Series 11 CHAMPION), and she was nominated for a BAFTA for her performance in Frayed. Sarah Kendall is above average height for a woman.

Host 

Lorna Woolfson, Comedy writer

Having previously worked as an AD on various TV shows and films such as Ab Fab, Casualty and Troy, Lorna is now a comedy writer with credits on HIGNFY and Turtle Canyon’s online sitcom, Content Content. She has been a finalist in BAFTA Rocliffe, The Funny Women Comedy Writing Awards and The Sitcom Mission (twice!) and her sitcom, Tudor Roses, was selected to be performed by The Female Pilots Club.

She currently has a Comedy Drama series in development with Company Pictures.

How will the online event work?

This event will be live streamed via Zoom.us. Viewing details will be sent via your confirmation.

Attending participants will not be visible to others and will be muted throughout the session. After the talk, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask their questions to the panel by using the Q&A feature.
