For October's Writers’ Group we were joined by Anna Winger, writer, producer, and creator of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series Unorthodox (Netflix) and Deutschland83 (Amazon).


Anna discussed her journey into the industry and career to date, balancing the roles of writer and producer and sharing insight to her writing process for her most recent Netflix series, Transatlantic, about Varian Fry and the Emergency Rescue Committee who helped over 2000 refugees escape occupied France in 1940.

WFTV members were invited to this online panel discussion exploring behind the scenes to making monsters. We heard from prosthetics and animatronics specialist, Millennium FX founder Kate Walshe, as well as lead creature animator from Goodbye Kansas, Christina Sidoti.


Kate and Christina discussed their roles, talking through examples of their work and how they work together to create the creatures we’ve come to know so well in film and TV. They’ll also advised how best to work with their departments as a director, producer or creator, focusing on some of the logistics and costs involved.
