Join us over June and July for an Actors’ Group focus. We’re hosting a special event series which will focus on the craft of acting with talks, 1-2-1’s and speed networking to help expand your practice and hone your skills. From learning about the business of acting to finding out new techniques for working with an accent to meeting Producer and Director’s there is something for actors’ whichever stage of your career you’re at, and for those who are curious about the craft of acting to listen along.

Actors’ Group: The Business of Acting

For the first event in the series, Abigail Longstaffe from The Mandy Network will be sharing an overview of the business of acting, insight into key industry changes over the past year, and what these mean for actors.
Abigail will be offering advice on headshots, showreels, voice reels, how to nail a self-tape audition, whilst sharing top tips for contacting casting directors and agents. For those early into their acting career or if you’re seeking tips to progress to the next level, this is a great introductory session from an expert on the changing trends of the industry. After the talk there will be an opportunity for an audience Q&A.
1-2-1 Clinic for Actors’ with Abigail Longstaff

On Wednesday 30 June, Abigail Longstaffe, International Business Development Manager at The Mandy Network, will be running 1-2-1 consultation clinics for actor members.
Whether you’re looking for guidance on headshots, feedback on your showreels or tips on how to use social media as a self-promotion tool, this is a fantastic opportunity to get advice from an industry expert.
Abigail will be offering 5x 20-minute slots to WFTV members. To maximise the opportunity, in advance of the session we ask that you please submit a couple of sentences outlining the question you would like to discuss with Abigail. You can find more information here.
Actors’ Group: Understanding Motion and Performance Capture

Join Jessica Jefferies, Casting Director and Victoria Atkin, Actress to discuss all things motion and performance capture.
Motion and performance capture merge the craft of acting with the digital world of film, TV and games.
During this event you will discover the differences between the two methods, reasons why a production chooses to work with them and the benefits and joy working within them as an actor. Jessica and Victoria will be also sharing guidelines around what to expect for fees, things to be aware of in contracts and tips on how to move into this side of performance as an actor. Speed Networking: Actors meet Producers and Directors

Take part in an evening of online Speed Networking, with the opportunity for actors to meet producers and directors working in film and TV from the WFTV membership.

Using virtual breakout rooms, this is a great chance for 1-2-1 speed networking where you will have 5 minutes to meet another WFTV member. The WFTV host will circulate members between the breakout rooms, ensuring that all actors are able to meet all the producers and directors on the call. Register now to attend.
